FIRST DAY - 01. march
It all started very well. Arrived at the airport and I was lucky enough as I didn´t have to take my shoes off :) So then we where inside with Tiina waiting for the plane. Most of the flight were delayed because of the bad weather conditions. The taught of delaying our flight already crossed my mind - we had 45 minutes in Prague to change planes, so it would be bad if they delay it.
Couple of more minutes and they announce that our flight will also delay (about 30 minutes). And now life is interesting again :) I have never missed a flight before.
But we were lucky - didn´t miss the next plane. Little bit of running and we were on the next plane and after an hour we were in Austria already.
Robert and Romano picked us up at the airport and after 3 hours we were in the house. The house is 1100 m above sea level near Salzburg in the middle of nowhere :)
SECOND DAY - 02.march
First day we went to Schladming (lower point is 749m and highest 1894m). By 12 o´clock we all had skies and snowboards and were up the first slope :)
It´s kinda weird to be on the snowboard again - have to remind all the things I already learnt last year and my nonexistent muscles began to hurt. So all I managed to do was to slide down on back edge of my snowboard.
As it was Tiina´s first time on the mountain skies, she took skiing lessons.
Robert and Romano are so good at skiing that they did´t have any trouble at all - they went to the black slopes almost right away :)
THIRD DAY - 03.march
We went to Obertauern (lowest point 1738m and highest I went was little over 2000m). These slopes were much better to remember all the stuff I managed last year. So now I already could slide down on the first edge. But as I tried to twirl down, I fell much more and now my hands (from pushing myself up), knees, buns and back hurt :)
The weather was quite nice - snowing and even sun was shining for time-to-time. But the negative side of snowing is that I couldn´t see through my glasses. Never mind that, I still enjoyed the day and cannot to wait another day in the mountains.
As I fell down couple of times quite hard, I decided that I really need a helmet. So after skiing/snowboarding we went to a sport shop and bought a UVEX silver helmet (it was expensive but safety first). Now I need a similar glasses to go with the helmet :D
In the evening boys made dinner again (we tried to help a little but boys managed to do everything again :) Lucky us!) and after that we watched a movie (007 movie with young Sean Connor :p). Some of us slept trough some parts of the movie (no names :D)
FOURTH DAY - 04.march
So Sunday - it´s of course a day to rest :)
Morning starts with all the "oih-aih" as everybody has tender muscle's.
As the sun is shining we take a small walk to the nearby lake. The walk starts to be quite painful but as the muscles warm up, it goes easier :)

After the pancakes (me and Tiina made them :)) it´s work time for Tiina and Romano (Romano is one of Tiina´s supervisors for her upcoming PhD thesis). So now there are lot´s of astronomy talk that I don´t understand :) And soon Romano´s friends come to visit us from Switzerland and tomorrow we have a plan to go to high-high mountain to ski and sightseeing.
NB! They have very good cacao in Austria - with cream on top :) It´s especially good after snowboarding :)
FIFTH DAY - 05.march
As it turns out we are not very near Salzburg - over 100km :) We are actually near Liezen, a small place called Wörschachwald.
Today we went to Dachstein Gletscher (it´s 2700m +/- few meters). It was so beautiful - sun shining and mountains all over (every directions you looked, there were mountains). At the end (around 3 o´clock) it was so foggy that you couldn´t see anything.
On the way back we stop to go to supermarket and there we met Tiina´s cute ski-instructor. Apparently he lived near-by. Now Tiina has his phone-number :p
In the news it was said that a helicopter and a small airplane crashed and fell down to a slope (luckily we far enough).
SIXTH DAY - 06.march
As it was very hot day (under 500m the weather cast promised 10-20°C) we decided to go somewhere higher - so Obertauern was the choice. As it is high enough and big enough to again. So it was a very beautiful day and everyone were happy.
We took lots of pictures with Tiina :)
So tomorrow is rest day again - going shopping :)
SEVENTH DAY - 07.march
So, a long sleep, some sightseeing (went to Admont), little shopping and just resting again :)
Tiina got tooth ache - she thinks that her wisdom tooth is growing.
EIGHT DAY - 08.march
Early morning wake up, eating and looking for a place cold enough to ski. But we could not find any place that was cold enough and didn´t promise snowing for a hole day and Tiina´s tooth was still aching. So we took her to a dentist - he confirmed that the wisdom tooth was the cause. He wanted to do a little cutting but Tiina didn´t want so the dentist gave her antibiotics.
NINTH DAY - 09.march
Tiina´s tooth ache didn´t go away, so guys took Tiina to the dentist in the morning. Then we went to Bad Hofgastein (lowest part 900m and highest above 2000m). Tiina came up with us but she didn´t ski.
As it had been worm the last 2 days the slopes were so bad - higher it was totally icy and in the middle it was wet (the lowest part didn´t even have snow :)). So it was a total catastrophe - couldn´t snowboard like normal, higher it was to slippery and I was afraid that I cannot break and in the middle I literally got stuck in the wet snow :)
TENTH DAY - 10.march
Tiina stayed home (still in pain). I had taught´s whether I should go or stay and keep Tiina company. Last I decided to go with the boys and I don´t regret my decision. Went to Obertaurn again and the conditions were great there.
Went into the gondola with the boys but it was so foggy up there that I was really scared :$ You could only see about 2m ahead and as I hadn´t gone down in this slope before it really was little scary. So the boys were kind enough to guide me :) Luckily the slope cleared as we went down and soon I told the boys to take the red slope (I continued along the blue one :)).
So it actually formed out to be the best day for me - I really enjoyed snowboarding and I tried out different slopes and even managed to get some speed. I'm so proud of myself :)
Oh, and I also saw a rabbit :)
And Tiina had swollen up while we were skiing and snowboarding :)
ELEVENTH DAY - 11.march
Romano left (Robert drove him to Salzburg in the morning, around 4 o´clock they started but me and Tiina slept :)).
Backing and driving to Vienna. Staying in Robert´s sisters place. We went out to have a bite to eat and met their cousin - had a great time (laugh like crazy).
TWELFTH DAY - 12.march
Waking up at 4 o´clock and Ropert´s sister drove us to the airport. Little waiting (OK, a lot of waiting), 2 plane rides and we were home.
Back to reality!
